Have you heard the one about the only stand-up comedian for kids 3-10? The Great Holtzie  has thrown the rules of children's comedy entertainment out the window. Gone are the goofy costumes, creepy makeup and condescending tone. Holtzie insists on treating children like little people rather than little kids. He has created an act where mom and dad will laugh just as hard as their six-year-old. Find it hard to believe??? Philadelphia Magazine called him “Steve Martin for five-year-olds”  and the City Paper called him, “the anti-Mr. Rogers.” Based in Philadelphia, Holtzie is available for private parties to theater performances...and everything in-between. Click here  for videos of TGH.

Photographer JJ Tizou put together a proposal to create a dance-themed public art installation for the newly renovated SEPTA station at 46th and Market in conjunction with sculptor James Peniston. They've been selected as one of the five finalists. I'm really excited about this, having worked with JJ in the past and I love his work, ideas and concerns! The project will involve a large scale photographic survey of the Philadelphia dance community, inviting every dancer in town to show us how they move. They're holding two preliminary photo shoots in April as tests, and looking for dancers who'd be interested in participating.
