in this new land called parenthood there are many "rock star parents" that earn this status because they raise the bar on the parenting game. but very few action hero parents who can take it to a whole new level - tracey clark is one of them. her blog, warmtone.com, is one of our favorites, and her photos make me smile a long while (check out her gorgeous books). did i mention what a great mom she is?

another birthday party this weekend had mommy a bit bummed, but boy was i psyched when i got to amy's playground! my kids had the best time getting lost in the giant maze, bouncing around the bouncers and playing in the playhouse, while i got lost on my computer (free wifi), sipped on free coffee and browsed the boutique filled with hand-picked gifts and toys. located in the historic Mission Street shopping district of South Pasadena, amy's also features weekly enrichment activities (art and music) and is owned by a great mom (amy) who really cares. check it out: www.amysindoorplayground.com |

when baby loves disco confirmed plans to open in los angeles the very first person we reached out to was the alternadad himself – neal pollack. Not only is he the coolest daddy in la-la land, but he’s also a great guide to what’s hot with tots. Look for his new book “alternadad” coming from random house in January. In the meantime, here’s neal’s top ten things he likes to do with his son in la. more... |

when we first came to LA we heard about the hot moms club but thought it was, ummmm, something other than what it really is – one of the coolest mommy groups west of Brooklyn. Sure they have moms that rock, Hotmompreneurs; celebrity moms and more. But the real fun (for us) is the site that features tons of great content, articles, features, tips and more. Be a hot mom (you already are!). |

last time the family was in LA we stopped by fundamentals of music and movement. and were blown away. A mom and pop organization with the goal “ to inspire children to express themselves through music and movement – here and throughout the world” the whole thing works well and worth checking out. |

yes, we’re all stressed parents and time is gold, but it’s a resource that you possess and can give freely. Teach your children well, lead by example and volunteer your time. we recommend getting involved in the city of hope or children’s hospital where you can volunteer behind the scenes or work with patients. It’s a tough task, but very satisfying. |

At C&C California it is! Get daddy a tee in "pinto bean," and mommy a tank in "ice cream" and dress in "vegas." Junior's favorite is, of course, anything in "gangsta." You'll be sayin' "wow"…wait, that's like stripe or somethin'… |

The Canadian geese are back from summer vacation and waddling around Echo Park Lake. But, it's not just geese that you'll see…this park is known for its biodiversity and Bohemian home tours. It's like going back in time…right in the middle of the city. |
