Chef Abigail Hitchcock (of Camaje and 85 MacDougal St.) and her husband Jason offer a small, seasonal menu complete with local music and poetry readings. Looks like this is good for date night as well as a bite with (very well-behaved) kiddies. In addition to cheese and charcuterie, the menu offers child-friendly faves like mini burgers and chicken bites. more info here: abigailbrooklyn.com.

one of the best kept secrets in brooklyn is the el pequeno artista center that offers cool art classes (arts and crafts, dancing, cooking and more) while also teaching spanish while you go. my kids (who generally hate all organized group activities) not only loved their experience at the center, but it actually worked! they picked up more spanish then i did in 4 years of high school classes!

manhattan mommy’s and daddy’s don’t be afraid to take a trip over the river and party with us in Brooklyn. And what better way to get here but the F train? It stops just a few blocks from southpaw, rides above ground with stunning views of the city, and, when you’re down with the disco, take it all the way to the beach for a pit stop in coney island. We love the F train, you will to. Check it out here.
